iPod mini was the hottest gadget last year & the best mp3 player around. Looks like this will be true even in 2005. There is absolutely no competition for the iPod's, no other player is even half as good as iPod.

Pro's,

1. Very good audio quality. Support for normal mp3's (unlike Sony).

2. Small size (smaller than most cell phones like much-talked-about-Motorola-Razr)

3. Extremely well desgined (let's hope Apple makes a cell phone and PDA in near future)

4. Very intuitive interface (award winning touch wheel and minimal buttons)

5. 4GB hard drive (enough space for about 800 mp3 songs)

6. Available in many colors (hopefully Apple will come up with Nokia style faceplates for future Mini's)

7. iTunes is one of the best music software around (rate songs, keep playcount, easy-sync with the iPod)

8. Excellent screen for such small size

9. Recharges from a standard USB port with the same cable as used for the upload of songs. No need to carry around a charger now.

10. Tons of innovative accessories in the market (from Bose speakers to colorful socks!)

11. Good battery life, about 10-14 hrs depneding on how much you surf around on it. ofcourse we all want more and there is no end to that demand :)

12. Everything about the iPod Mini is designed to perfection (no other company has put this much time & effort into their mp3 players even in 4 yrs since iPod hit the streets)

Con's,

1. The battery is internal with no easy replacement chances

2. Colors on the new Mini, except Silver, IMHO, are all gaudy. Last generation of Mini's had much pleasing colors. Check out for yourself at a local store before buying.

3. Gold version has been dropped now, its become a collector's item? Instead of adding more colors they have dropped one!

4. Doesn't come with a wall charger any more and takes longer to charge from USB port. You always need to be around a computer or pay extra for the charger.

Its simply fabulous and I am running out of superlatives to describe it. Thanks Apple for the new iPod Mini!

I have to say going from the COWON S9 to Z2 makes life sweeter :) The COWON S9 is an awesome device as it is, but it isn't without its flaws. The UI can be slow, inconsistent, and unresponsive at times. But the audio capabilities make up for its short comings. Still you're left with that "if only" feeling... NO MORE, THE COWON Z2 IS HERE!

The Z2 is consistent, fast, and responsive! Navigating through my music, image, and video library seamlessly in matrix mode is priceless. Sure you can get an Apple or Android PMP device that can do the same, but wait, they don't have COWON simply amazing audio capabilities! So guest what, COWON just trampled the other PMP's.

- The Z2 has a nice slick design, it's light weight, and feels durable. It runs on Android operating system, which plays a large role in COWON UI improvement.

- The audio capabilities have been extended even further from the S9 (more presets and audio manipulation + BBE), as if it needed to be.

- It has a built in speaker which lets me have continuous play from walking to my car, on my car ride, to my headphone on my long train ride, and walking home to my apartment were I can then connect it to my sound system. I love it :D

- A microSD slot which you can expand the memory capacity of the Z2 (32GB to 64GB card + internal 32GB = more music). Now my all FLAC PMP is coming true!

- Awesome HD touch screen, it's like my Galaxy tablet. It display images and videos with impressive amounts of detail.

- HDMI capable and plays almost any video format imaginable including MKV!

- Did I mention more audio capabilities? Big emphasis on this people, BIG!

The Z2 also has other cool stuff like its running on Android (Android Apps), WiFi, Bluetooth, standard USB and HDMI slots, Microphone, etc. No camera, as if I care anyway. The WiFi doesn't seem to work for me, which is a bummer (I was hoping to retrieve media info from internet). However, the pluses quickly supersede these short comings.

So far I'm extremely happy with the Z2. Its not perfect (4 out of 5). Battery life is not as good as the S9. It's kinda expensive @ $300. WiFi is not working for me, which makes some things on an Android environment hard to do. Playlists seem to be MIA, yes MIA. That's really what brought it down to 4 for me. At least S9 had the courtesy of having a favorite playlist. In any case, I'm still very happy with the upgrade.

I would definitely recommend the Z2 to any music/sound enthusiast or S9 owner!

UPDATE: I got the WiFi going. Upgraded firmware and that seem to have solved the problem ;) Now let's get an update for playlists.

I own the D3, and have gone over it with a fine tooth comb. While the specs are great, the firmware is not quite ready. Mine freezes up randomly. There is a persistent flaw in the music application that makes the audio cut-out momentarily near the beginning of each new song being played. There is also no access to any app market on the U.S. firmware of the D3. Cowon has been releasing updates rapidly though. These flaws may eventually be fixed, but since this is their first venture using Android on one of their players it is clear they need more experience. It is also overpriced given that a reliable 4th gen 32gb iPod Touch is $299 or less. There is no camera or GPS, and so far no engish version of a User Manual available either. Bluetooth worked fine with headphones except for that audio cut-out flaw. Files transfers over bluetooth failed every time I tried. No Bluetooth keyboard or mouse support either.

At the time of this review my D3 had (Korean) firmware 1.27 on it. The latest North America version was 3.25.

Update 2/10/2011: Cowon updated the firmware today, and with version 3.27 on my D3 the audio cut-out seems to have been eliminated.

Update 2/16/2011: Cowon updated the firmware again, to 1.29 (Korean). I expect the U.S. version (3.29) in a day or two. Now up to 9 home pages. Updates to the Music app including album art support for FLAC files. Still no gapless playback. Still the occasional bug playing music.

Update 3/12/2011: Cowon updated the firmware again. I've got version 3.31 on mine now. The Music app seems to be fixed except for no gapless playback yet. The Video app has a new trick when the D3 is flipped (ff/rw buttons reverse). Still too expensive with no app store and no local network streaming (Home Sharing on the iPod Touch, and available on the Archos android players). The UI is much more fluid now, but still hesitates when the media database decides to update.

First. Apple has no reason to panic. This player has only 2 advantages. Fm Tuner. Longer Battery Life. Second. This review is strictly for music lovers. The video portion of the player is not a feature that excites me. The screen is too small to view anything other than a song or album title. The 4 gb capacity is also wonderful. Very lightweight. Major complaint. WARNING!!!!!!! Earphones that are included are complete garbage! For an owner of a more expensive player this is a really good backup.

When searching for a new mp3 player the trail always leads me back to Sony. Its more about overall quality then brand loyalty. Over the years Sony's Walkman line has gone the distance and more. The all new Sony S Series Walkman adds to the legacy.

The S-540 8gb Walkman brings it on with a crisp, color enhanced 2.4" LCD screen that is easy on the eyes. At 2" x 4" x .4", it comes in a bit larger then its older cousin. A larger body undoubtedly is required to provide support for the external speaker system. The speakers won't get confused with my home system anytime soon but they do provide an excellent source. With headphones on, this mp3 player delivers a cornucopia of sound. Missing but not that noticeable is the noise reduction feature. The on board equalizer can be tweaked to one's own preferences or users can choose one of the six presets.

The Navigation pad located directly under the screen is a breeze to operate. Three controls are located on the right side of the unit. One locks in the controls. The second one allows for easy switching from speaker to headset. Volume is the third control. The standard headphone jack and a USB port can be found on the bottom of the unit. The detachable flip out stand is an okay feature that allows for easy standing on my desk or shelf top. I would have preferred that it was permanently mounted.

The S-540 supports mp3, mp4, AAC, AVC, WMV, WMA, and PCM. PCM is Sony's version of WAV. It pairs well with Napster. Rhapsody is a no go. Downloading my playlists from Windows Media Player was a breeze without the usual hiccups associated with older mp3 players. I did download a couple of photographs on this model. The display was outstanding. Unlike my older Walkman, this model doesn't offer the wallpaper photo display option.

The built in FM tuner picked up all ten of my stations. With auto scanner functionality, thirty preset slots are available. The FM radio is crystal clear when using the headset as an antenna. The alarm and timer features are a nice addition. This model also has an impressive on board microphone located on the bottom of the unit. There are three voice settings. Voice playback quality was excellent. Battery life has always been biggie with Sony. On a full charge, I got almost a full thirty five hours of music.

This Sony mp3 player comes packaged with a USB cable, flip stand, ear buds, installed operating manual, and the standard one year warranty. Body finishes for the 8GB model include; black, red, pink and violet. The 16GB unit comes in a black or red body.

Economically priced, this latest edition to the Walkman line is a durable and reliable product that simply delivers. Easy to use and loaded with features, the Sony S-540 is a prime time performer.

I just received this item yesterday. It comes with all kinds of cords and the item itself is actually a little smaller than an Ipod Nano with pretty much all the same functionality. That being said, lets get down to it..

Pros: Comes with two pair of head phones. One is wireless and the other is a 3.5 wired pair. 2) Come with different sized ear buds. 3)The ear buds are comfortable. Today I finished 3 miles on the elliptical machine and didnt even feel them. 4)It charges quickly and after 2 hours of continuous play with the wireless head phones, the batter meter is still full. 5)I actually got 2+ hours of good sound quality out of the wireless head phones and they still aren't dead. 6) Its easy to put music on the device and it has pre-set up folders for videos, pod cast, pictures, music, etc. It does come with pre-loaded music, video, and pics for wall paper but its easily deletable. 7)The wireless headphones come with a little box for operation. Its really light and comes with a clip. "Please note, the cord isnt very long so its obvious meant to be clipped to your collar or somewhere high on your shirt. From the ear bud, its about a foot long. 8)The design of the ear buds make them comfortable even though they do fit inside the ear, and they dont come while jogging. The clip seems pretty strong too, so it wont come off either.

Cons: The charging dongle. This is my only beef with this device. It comes with one dongle and if you loose, you can not charge it. Its proprietary, so you cant go and get another from the local walmart and I havent been able to find it on amazon either. Its about 6 inches in length, one end is for the device and the other end is a micro usb. Anyone see a charging issue yet. Well, here it is.. It comes with another USB 2 - Micro USB cable that plugs into the proprietary dongle so that you can charge it via computer and upload your music. If you think thats something, check this out. The micro usb end of the dongle plugs into the wireless head phones so that you charge them as well. Thats not a major gripe since you can charge the head phones with any micro usb cable but the thing is, that damn dongle..

ALL-in-All: I would recommend this device. Just be sure not to loose the dongle it comes with. Tape it to your laptop or something. It would have been nice if they threw in a little pouch for the cables though. That being said, its still worth the money, oh, at its bluetooth capable. It pairs with the wiresless headphones as soon as you turn it on. No special button combination to hold down, like on most bluetooth devices..

When searching for a new mp3 player the trail always leads me back to Sony. Its more about overall quality then brand loyalty. Over the years Sony's Walkman line has gone the distance and more. The all new Sony S Series Walkman adds to the legacy.

The S-540 8gb Walkman brings it on with a crisp, color enhanced 2.4" LCD screen that is easy on the eyes. At 2" x 4" x .4", it comes in a bit larger then its older cousin. A larger body undoubtedly is required to provide support for the external speaker system. The speakers won't get confused with my home system anytime soon but they do provide an excellent source. With headphones on, this mp3 player delivers a cornucopia of sound. Missing but not that noticeable is the noise reduction feature. The on board equalizer can be tweaked to one's own preferences or users can choose one of the six presets.

The Navigation pad located directly under the screen is a breeze to operate. Three controls are located on the right side of the unit. One locks in the controls. The second one allows for easy switching from speaker to headset. Volume is the third control. The standard headphone jack and a USB port can be found on the bottom of the unit. The detachable flip out stand is an okay feature that allows for easy standing on my desk or shelf top. I would have preferred that it was permanently mounted.

The S-540 supports mp3, mp4, AAC, AVC, WMV, WMA, and PCM. PCM is Sony's version of WAV. It pairs well with Napster. Rhapsody is a no go. Downloading my playlists from Windows Media Player was a breeze without the usual hiccups associated with older mp3 players. Amazon video is now supported. I haven't downloaded video. I did download a couple of photographs on this model. The display was outstanding. Unlike my older Walkman, this model doesn't offer the wallpaper photo display option.

The built in FM tuner picked up all ten of my stations. With auto scanner functionality, thirty preset slots are available. The FM radio is crystal clear when using the headset as an antenna. The alarm clock and timer features are sweet. This model also has an impressive on board microphone located on the bottom of the unit. There are three voice settings. Voice playback quality was excellent. Battery life has always been biggie with Sony. On a full charge, I got almost a full thirty five hours of music.

This Sony mp3 player comes packaged with a USB cable, flip stand, ear buds, installed operating manual, and the standard one year warranty. Body finishes for the 8GB model include; black, red, pink and violet. The 16GB unit comes in a black or red body.

Economically priced, this latest edition to the Walkman line is a durable and reliable product that simply delivers. Easy to use and loaded with features, the Sony S-540 is a prime time performer.

This was by far the cheapest waterproof MP3 player I found but the quality is just as good as any other I've tried. I got it for swimming and there's no way I would have lasted in the pool as long as I did if I hadn't had this little MP3 player with me. It worked great. The ear phones wrap around the ears and stayed on comfortably. The controls are easy to use. I've only had it for a couple of weeks so I'm not sure about its longevity but so far it's been a great buy!

Passionate iPod users know at least one thing about the iPod line-up, and that is they are always changing. The new full-size iPods have moved to an all-color line-up, and that is a good thing. The new 20 GB iPod with color display is 0.06 inches thicker than its 20 GB monochrome-display predecessor. However, after a little use, the small increase in size does not seem significant. Plus, the bonuses are rich.

This 20 GB iPod with color display has a battery that lasts three hours longer than the previous 20 GB with monochrome display. That brings the total to approximately 15-hours, which is great as it allows you to use your iPod longer in every day circumstances before charging, while also giving you the power needed to fly almost anywhere in the world, on a single charge. Compare this to some of the earlier iPods that had only eight hours of battery life.

What does the color screen add, for you might ask, "I'm listening to music, why a color screen?" Well, album art is one benefit. The iPod displays the album art, when playing songs, which helps create the feeling for the album. Furthermore, iTunes works with iPhoto on Mac and Adobe products on PC, in order to transfer your photo libraries to your iPod. You can then view your cherished photo libraries on the go, which might come in handy when you're telling the story of that huge fish no one seems to believe. However, the best part of iPod with color is that you can buy the optional photo adapter, plug it into the dock connector on your iPod, and transfer photographs direct from your digital camera via USB. This allows you to move potentially gigabytes of photographs to your iPod, while on vacation, freeing up the memory card in your camera. This is truly a time and money saver! You can return from vacation with thousands of images that would have never fit on your camera's memory card alone. Finally, you can view slideshows of photographs, and even display them on television, with optional A/V cables sold separately.

Why has the storage not increased on the $299 model, when switching from monochrome display to color? Apple is obviously choosing to give you the features of a color display without increasing price, rather than increase the size of storage on the base iPod at this time, and it is a good decision! 20 gigabytes is an ample-size iPod, for almost everyone. Few people have more than a few gigabytes of music, and that leaves you with several more gigabytes for photos, backing up files, and future-proofing. However, if you do have more than 20 gigabytes of music, and you want to backup some of your computer files to your iPod, you might choose the 60 GB model, although it is even thicker in size. However, that is going to be a select group, for 20 GB truly shines, and it is ideal for almost everyone. A good value, at this time, is the now discontinued 30 GB iPod photo, which has identical features and dimensions as the new 20 GB color. The 30 GB can still be found at the time of writing this, for between $330 and $350.

Mac or PC? This iPod works beautifully with either a Mac or PC. However, on a Mac, you'll immediately enjoy the synchronization of iTunes, your contacts, iCal calendars, Backup software, and of course iPhoto. On PC, you will have iTunes, but you'll need a third-party application from Adobe to sync photos the right way, while, you can find some shareware on the Internet that will allow you to sync other information, addresses, etc. that you might be interested in trying out.

Finally, Podcasting! The newest version of iTunes is 4.9, and it features Podcasting support. Podcasts are internet radio broadcasts, and there are thousands covering nearly every subject imaginable, and more are coming out every day. Podcasts are quickly becoming popular content on iPods around the world. Check them out, and this iPod supports Podcasts out of the box.

Appearance - The iPod is beautiful, but the back's chrome finish is prone to scratches, and the screen can become scratched as well. It is a very good idea to protect the back of the iPod and the screen in some way. There are many cases and protectors out there, and you will surely find something you like.

Overall, this is another excellent product from Apple Computer. The design is elegant, simple, and intuitive. It will provide hours of entertainment and convenience. Enjoy your iPod experience.

My new shuffle gives me the ultimate coolness factor! The functionality is awesome too.
The shuffle arrived in it's beautiful transparent hard plastic box. It is really small, 1.5 inches long and 1 inch wide and the depth without the clip is hardly a few mm. The packaging is great too, even better than the last green cardboard box, and if you buy it from apple you can engrave it with your special message and also include a gift note which arrives in a tiny white envelope with a silver apple logo. My shuffle has my name and cell phone number engraved at the back from Apple in case it goes missing...though I don't think the finder would ever want to return it.

The "goodness" of a shuffle: I had always liked the Gen 1 shuffle too as it was small, and could slip into my tight jeans easily. Every time I wanted to change a song while at the airport in a queue, shopping for groceries or jogging I could just press the raised ring as I knew where each symbol was. I never needed to look at it or to take my attention away from what I was doing. It was light too, so much so that the weight of the headphones would sometimes nudge it out of my pocket and it would clatter to the floor. When I wanted to change the songs I just slipped it into my laptop. I had planned to buy a bigger iPod or even the Zune or Zenvision for my car so I could load my complete song collection (and get rid of XM) or for long plane trips where I might look at the screen. But for the everyday activities - jogs, work in the kitchen/garage/garden, or shopping trips I was happy with the low maintenance easy-breezy shuffle. So, the early pictures of the new shuffle blew me away ...I realized it was time to give away my old one...to my dad in this case, who loves listening to his books on shuffle, and doesn't want a screen.

The 2G shuffle: The new shuffle sounds just as good as the last one and the headphones tangle up less with a rubber slider. Did I tell you that the white and gray headphones co-ordinate perfectly with the gray and white look of the new shuffle? I love these little touches from Apple...(Can't believe Microsoft thinks the dull brown color of Zune is cool...) The port to connect the headphones is the same one you connect the docking station to load songs or charge it. The docking station is small too, white on top and barely 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide with gray rubber base with an apple logo that prevents it from sliding around. You'll need to download the 35MB iTunes software to your computer (in case you don't have it already) and then load up your songs on the shuffle and you're ready to go. When it updates software the light indicator is red, orange when it uploads songs and green when you eject it and it's ready to play. The genius is that there is no need for a separate battery indicator as the same light glows orange for low charge or red if your battery is very low. In fact the same light will tell you with a blink sequence if there are no songs loaded. Press the forward button once and it will go back to the beginning of the same song, press it twice it goes to the next song. Similar function for the reverse button. If you press the play/pause button 3 times it goes to the beginning of the playlist...If you have your songs organized you can load the list you want according to your mood and these controls are enough to take you where you may want to go.

I was able to load 180 songs on to my shuffle, which is more than enough for a whole week for me. You have to use iTunes but all my songs are from CDs or downloads from other sites and I did not have a problem getting them on to the shuffle with the iTunes software.

The only downside I see is that I'll have to carry the docking station to charge it or upload songs if I travel, and while the docking station is really small, it makes the shuffle less self-contained. However, given the look of the new shuffle I don't mind too much. Especially now that I have a clip on the new shuffle, a feature I did not anticipate would make carrying the shuffle so much easier.

In fact, now I am in love with the convenience of the shuffle's clip that makes it easy to access and does not keep falling out with the weight of the headphones. The possibilities of where to clip it are endless. I've had it clipped to my T shirt neck, my office shirt front, on my leather coat lapel, or the jeans top pocket, or even my purse strap. Doesn't fall out and it's easier to reach the buttons.

By the way, all the people with negative reviews for 2G don't seem to be users. If I just want to make toast I don't want to buy an oven, even if it's available for the same price. If I wanted a screen on the shuffle I would get a Nano or something else. But the shuffle gives me what I want -not only does it play great music, it's cute enough to sit on my blouse. And does get some ooohs and aaaahs!

Now how about blue, red and pink metal shuffles...I need to color coordinate them with all my outfits! ;-)
Update Feb 28, 2007: So Apple listened to me (!) and they do have these in nice colors now...love that orange..

With Apple selling so many iPod Touches, I'd think the options for Android equivalents would be larger. Well, Philips has entered the arena. If you are not a fan of Apple this is an adequate alternative.

When I opened the packaging, I was surprised at the size of the Connect. It's a bit over twice as thick as my iPod Touch and a bit longer. It seemed heavier but I weighed both of the devices and the Connect is 112 grams vs. 105 for the iPod Touch. That's probably not enough to truly tell by holding the two players. Call it a wash. The screen on this is 3.2 inches vs. the 3.5 of the Touch. That is noticeable. The Connect has an FM radio receiver built in, which works fine. The Touch doesn't. The big omission is cameras. The Connect doesn't have any, so no video conferencing or snapshots.

While the screen of the Connect is a bit smaller, it's bright and crisp. The Connect comes with a couple of demo movies. They look good. The screen is nicely sensitive to touch. I added my own MP4 movie by side loading and it played perfectly.

Android ran quickly. Apps started up fast. The screen changed orientation quickly. The keyboard is responsive. The Connect walked me through setting up Wi-Fi and connecting to Google services. Wi-Fi reception seems about the same as with the Touch, not spectacular, not terrible. The Connect has a lot of apps preloaded, including Songbird for music, Audible, Rhapsody, YouTube, Android Market and so on. Songbird is an adequate music player, though it lacks touch volume control. I had the same frustrating half hour with the connect to that as I experienced with my LG phone when trying to connect to the Android store. I got it done, but it isn't the seamless/painless experience that Apple delivers.

Unfortunately, like the iPod Touch, the Connect has the headset jack on the bottom. The micro-USB connect jack is there, too. Volume buttons are on the right. The stick out just enough to work with thin gloves on and are separated enough to handle the controls totally by touch without having to first orient whether my finger is on the up or down control. Excellent. The power button is on the right side, near the bottom. Not excellent. It's fits right where the pad beneath the thumb pushes when holding the Connect right handed. I turned the Connect off while holding it with my gloved hand. Poor ergonomics.

A micro-USB cable is included but, its only 12 inches long. I have one from my phone that works better. The include cable is just too short. Charging the Connect from a wall socket charger (not included-I use my Kindle charger) caused the device to hang from the wall. Connecting it to a laptop requires setting the Connect on the computer. The earphones also have a short cord. It will reach a shirt pocket but you won't get the Connect in a jacket hand warmer pocket, let alone your pants. One saving grace is that the in-ear phones are much more comfortable that the awful Apple version, though the look much cheaper than Apple's. Sound quality seems equally mediocre.

Continuing with fit and finish, this thing lacks the polish of the iPod Touch. The Connect is well enough constructed and seems solid, but it also looks cheaper than the touch. One advantage of using an iPod Touch is that there are many after market cases and holders available. You may have trouble finding one. Also the micro-USB connector works fine but won't sit in a dock, which all iPods, iPads and iPhones do. You'll need to get a double male cable to plug into external speakers or other devices. It works but isn't elegant. You can probably use Micro-USB connector to HDMI cable for TV viewing. You can with other Android players. As with many Android devices, you can add a Micro-SD card to increase the 8 GB of built in storage. That's a nice cost savings over the Touch.

The Connect works adequately as a PDA. Standard Android calendar and notes applications work. If you're on a budget, the Philips Connect is a decent alternative to the iPod Touch or the more expensive Samsung options

First off, I have no idea why any manufacturer would make an mp3 player that only has 2 gigs in it. That ship has sailed. 4GB is a minimum nowadays, with 8GB becoming the norm. Whatever product manager thought that was a good idea should probably move on, and out of the technology realm...

For sake of a fair evaluation, I'll be comparing this Philips Raga to my mp3 player of choice, the SanDisk Sansa Fuze . From a functionality standpoint, the Raga offers everything you'd want in an mp3 player: easy to navigate menus, options for playlists, shuffle vs linear vs repeat, drill down into directories (or genres/artists/whatever to find the song(s) you want to play.) Basically, all the basic functionality is here. (And quite frankly, it seems like the difference between the functionality between Sansa and Philips is nothing - only the menus and how to traverse them are different.)

And the basic functionality is really what you're getting with the Raga. Personally, a couple of the features that may seem "blah" are awesome, and I wish my Fuze had them: (1) When plugging the Raga into your machine (USB, no software required), it asks if you want to "Charge and Transfer Songs" or "Charge and Listen To Music." (2) The power button is also the "hold" button. Pressing it once quickly makes it so all the other buttons don't do anything. Great if you stow the little thing into your pocket. (3) It actually came with an arm band and a perfect-fitting case.

The sound quality of the playback is arguably better than the Sansa, but it may come down to preference. (The Sansa has a EQ that you can customize, though.) Compared with the competitor, this Philips Raga has a much more full sound to it, most likely the result of a fuller/deeper bass. (Based on using the same headphones between units, and plugging it into my car stereo.) The headphones are very high quality.

It's a great little player, with a couple of things that I don't like - but it comes down to personal preference. Again, 2GB is ridiculous. At time of this review, the 4GB unit is within one dollar of the 2GB unit; yesterday, the 4GB unit was four cents cheaper. Also, I'm used to a larger screen. This unit is more comparable to the SanDisk Sansa Clip+ in overall form factor - and a screen that displays about 4 lines at a time. Makes for a much smaller unit, but it comes down to personal preference.

I'd certainly recommend this unit to others - EXCEPT the 2GB unit. Get at least the 4GB one. There's plenty of competition out there, but nothing on this unit would steer me away from it. It'll probably be my backup unit, only because of its limited memory.
